Two days after Christmas 2023, Głos Szczeciński published a report on our school's festive production: the first "Nutcracker" that Olga Kuźmina's pupils danced on the stage of the Opera na Zamku in Szczecin.
The author points to two things. First, the scale: dozens of performers crossed the stage, children of various ages among them, alongside dancers of the Opera na Zamku - for many of our pupils it was a first appearance on a real theatre stage. Second, that a Szczecin ballet school had shown Tchaikovsky's ballet in this form for the first time. Olga Kuźmina, the production's director and choreographer, built it on Marius Petipa's classical staging.
In the text Olga speaks about why she founded the school: to give children and teenagers a place with a good tradition and real growth, away from screens - and thanks everyone who made the production with her: the children, the parents, the teachers and the Opera's technical crew. The report closes with the audience's reaction, for whom the story of Clara, the Nutcracker and the Mouse King was a foretaste of Christmas.
