The October issue of Prestiż Szczecin magazine (no. 211) carries a piece about our school written by Aneta Dolega. Its starting point is simple: ballet has kept its power for centuries because behind every precise movement there are emotions, music and a story - and classical dance can also be a road to self-confidence and the joy of movement.
Most of the text follows Olga Kuźmina-Pietkiewicz's path: the State Ballet School in Kyiv and a master's degree qualifying her as a classical ballet répétiteur, the Kyiv State Musical Theatre of Opera and Ballet, the Opera na Zamku in Szczecin since 2006, and along the way Stockholm, the Wrocław Opera and international competitions in Varna, Rome and Kyiv. The article names the choreographers she has worked with, her solo roles - among them the lead in "El amor brujo" - and the Minister of Culture's award "Zasłużony dla scen polskich" in 2022. At the Opera na Zamku Olga still dances as a coryphée and teaches classical and neoclassical dance.
The second part is about the school Olga founded in 2019. Ballet there is not a collection of pretty poses but a language with its own history and tradition, one you have to understand to pass emotion on to the audience. Add to that our own curriculum, groups by level and by age, an audition before professional ballet classes, and preparation for ballet competitions. The opening photograph of the article was taken by Karolina Tarnawska.
