Description
The Intensive Summer Ballet Workshops are a special week of complete focus on dance β a week of work on technique, strength, body awareness and artistic expression. It is a chance to move up a level among fellow ballet enthusiasts and discover new possibilities in your own movement.
This year we have prepared two sessions for you. The first, in July, matters especially for dancers preparing for competitions - it lays solid foundations before the season starts. The second, in August, is an excellent way to stay in form and keep developing before the new season.
The workshops are open to dancers at every stage, from the age of 8. They are not only intensive work on the body and on technique, but also a space to make new friends, share experience and enjoy dancing together.
π Special guest - Agnieszka Jankowska:
She will teach during the first session of the workshops (3β9 July). A graduate of the ballet school in Bytom, she has been with the Grand Theatre - National Opera since 2001, and became a soloist there in 2007, continuing as a soloist with the Polish National Ballet. She has danced leading solo roles including Juliet in "Romeo and Juliet" choreographed by E. WesoΕowski, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty and many others, in classical and contemporary repertoire alike. She still dances today. She also holds a Master of Dance degree from the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music, and teaches both children and adults.
If you would like to sign up a child with no dance experience yet, we invite you to our regular Classes for Children (π) or Classes for Teenagers and Adults (π).
The workshop programme includes:
- Classical technique (Vaganova method) β the foundation of every ballet dancer
- Barre au sol / PBT β strengthening and work on correct alignment on the floor
- Stretching β developing flexibility and mobility
- Character dance β the stylised national dances of the great ballet repertoire
- Partnering β working in a duet and the basics of lifts
- Contemporary dance β freedom of movement and modern expression
- Classical variations β working on excerpts from the repertoire
- Jumps and turns β technique, dynamics and precision
- Theory classes β the knowledge that deepens a dancer's awareness
We warmly invite you!
It is an intensive week combining traditional ballet technique with modern training methods β ideal both for dancers preparing for competitions and for anyone who wants to develop their passion under the eye of an experienced team.
Booking early guarantees a place in the session of your choice. Do not put it off β places are limited.
